~Under the Sea~

Deep below the waves of the ocean rests a hidden kingdom. This land at the bottom of the sea is filled with mermaids. There is a great castle which the city surrounds where the royal family lives. The king has decided to let has sons and daughters join the court. There may be romance, but there will be plenty of drama and mystery.

Ahaha. Okay. Though I was considering doing a male character...but I haven't done a female character in a while. Though I might revert back to my old ways and do a male character. XD

Calypso woke up suddenly, and darted out of bed. "The ball is today~~" she sang as she spun around her room. Soon Delshino would be in with her breakfast and she'd be able to inquire about the gown that the tailor was making for her.

(not like regular gowns, mermaid gowns are like toule, silk and chiffon woven and draped in complex designs to only cover their top half)

Truo had woken up early, and was swimming through the palace, deep in thought. He'd been told that he needed to pick a potential wife at this ball, and Calypso needed to choose a potential husband. He hadn't told her yet since she was so excited, but he was worried how she would take this news.

Craina swam along the coral garden in an attempt to be alone before everyone was awake. The only other person she knew would be up would be Delshino as he never seemed to sleep in, even on his rare days off. She pushed back some of her hair that was in the way and sat on a rock bench and sighed.

Delshino jolted awake, he had slept in. In a panic he swam around trying to make himself presentable before getting Calypso's breakfast where he'd be bombarded about her gown. Finally, he was on his way to her room with Calypso's breakfast. He still looked frazzled, but not like he had slept in.
He knocked gently on her door and entered, only to find she was already awake.

"Good morning~!" Chimed the princess. She was always a bundle of energy when she first woke up, but she would soon revert back into her mature and strong self. She decided to eat her breakfast before bothering Delshino with questions. He looked rather handsome today, and she couldnt help but fantasize as she ate. Once she finished she darted over to him and grinned. "Delshino~.. What does my gown look like?" Her eyes shined with the curiosity an excitement of a small child.

Truo found his way to the garden as he thought, and he ran into a beautiful young mermaid with blue hair. "Oh! Im sorry, are you alright? I hope I didn't hurt you.." he said with a concerned face.

Delshino sighed and floated around the room organizing the room while she ate. He looked at her and smiled. "It will be made of pink cloth held together in the front with a braided material held together with seashell buttons." He said still holding the soft smile to her.

Craina squeaked in surprise when someone bumped into her. 'Ack! What do I do now?' She thought as she panicked on the inside with a startled deer-in-a-headlight look on her face. "I-I-I-I...'Craina took a breath. "I am alright."

Calypso grinned. "It sounds perfect!!" She swam around him in a tight circle the sobered for a moment. "I wanted to give you the night off so that you could enjoy the ball, but my mother refuses. I'm so sorry!" Her apology was obviously genuine through her aqua eyes.

Truo bowed low. "Again, I'm very sorry." He watched her for a second, smiling inwardly at her pretty features. "May I join you on your swim? I'm Truo, by the way."

Delson nodded. "It's fine. I don't mind." He said. He never really liked the fancy balls much anyway.

Craina felt herself blush nervously. When he asked to join her her mind blanked for a moment. "Oh, y-yes. You may." She said, she was never really this frazzled (aside from the fact that she was startled, but that didn't matter anyway.) around other people. Oh, she would be mocked forever. "I'm Craina, it's n-nice to meet you as well."

Calypso smiled. "Let's go see if my gown is finished!" She grinned and took his hand, swimming out the door and down the hall as fast as she could, laughing the whole time. They arrived at Tge tailor's workshop and she was whisked behind a changing curtain to be fitted.

Truo smiled. She was very pretty. "The pleasure is all mine." He offered her his arm and started to swim around the coral garden with her. "Will you be going to the royal ball tonight? If you are, perhaps we could share a dance?"

Delshino took a second to process what she had just said before he was dragged all the way down to the shop at a fast speed. He ended up spending the entire time swimming there trying to get Calypso to swim at a slower pace, but failed epically. He was given a chance to take a breath as she was taken behind a curtain for fitting.

Craina blushed a little but took his arm anyway. She was still nervous, but calmed down after a while with the rare nervous twitch of her tail. "Oh, the ball. I normally do not attend, but I wouldn't mind going if you where there. She twirled a strand of her blue hair shyly trying not to swim out of the garden right then and there.

Calypso smiled and came out from behind the curtain shyly. Chiffon the color of pink that was hinted in her tail was draped over her torso like cream.Over it was a sheer fabric of the same color. As Delshino had said, there was an intricate braid yet the buttons were now pearl. "What do you think?" She did a slow turn so Delshino could see it all.

Truo grinned at her answer. "Well, I have to be there, so I hope that I can safely say reserve a dance for you?"

Delshino looked up to see Calypso in the dress, it made her look quiet beautiful. The merman felt himself redden a little as she did a twirl. "It looks lovely. You shouldn't have any problems finding a husband tonight." He said with a small smile on top of a pleased look on his face.

Craina pursed her lips. "I see. Why is that?" She asked, slightly curious on why he had to be at a royal ball.

Calypso's eyes widened. "What?! Find a husband?!" She was shocked that her parents were making her do this so soon. She floated down, hugging her tail to her chest. "How can I find someone to marry in one night?"

Truo smiled slightly. "I'm the prince. And at this ball I have to find a suitable wife and help my sister find a suitable husband." He sighed. "But I haven't told her yet, and I don't know how. "Would you have any suggestions, Mi'lady?"

Delshino raised an eyebrow. "You didn't know? You are almost of marrying age, you have to find a husband at some point." He said and swam over to her with a concerned look. "Though this ball is just to meet people, so you shouldn't worry." Delshino felt his heart sink, he was beginning to feel really bad now.

Craina almost paled paler than she normally did. 'Ahh. How could I not have noticed?' The blue haired mermaid flicked her tail nervously. "W-Well, her servant Delshino is normally very good at informing people of this...B-But you could try telling her calmly b-because she can get upset really fast about these things." Craina said and looked at a small fish swimming along, trying to escape from her blunder.

Calypso looked up at Delshino and ran brushed her fingers across his knuckles, the gesture was sort of a secret handshake for them. "I suppose you're right. The formalities before the ball should start in and hour or so. We should go to start getting ready."

Truo groaned a little. "I bet Delshino told her. How foolish of me.." He looked over at Craina. "You're very smart. After all, I wouldnt have realized that possibility unless you had to me."
