Pirates! Action, Adventure, and Romance

Amari, who had been wandering heard a loud crash and jumped. He poked his head inside the kitchen door. "Is everything okay?" He asked and noticed a new member picking up things from the floor. He walked over and helped him out a bit.

Ivelia scowled. She'd have to talk to Amari later. After they'd been sailing for several hours she ordered the men to drop anchor.

She tied off the wheel and made her way down to the kitchen. "Mr. Blackwater. When should we expect dinner?"

"Thank you, sir. Did the first mate really have nothing better to do than to help me?" Gale wondered as the two picked up the mess. "These shelves appear to not be too stable..

Gale nearly jumped when he heard the captain's voice. "C-capt'n, dinner could be ready in the hour. That is, if shrimp curry is alright." He hadn't even taken notice that his face had gotten flushed in embarasment of the mess the captain walked in on.

Captain Hawk laughed a little. "Mind if I join you? Shrimp curry sounds and smells delicious." She sat on top of a crate and picked up a lime. "I bet you've noticed our excess of limes. I make the crew eat one every day. It gets rid of the scurvy."

She watched him cook. He was rather handsome, but she scolded herself for the thought. She was a captain. Sure, she was a 19 year old girl, but she had responsibilities.

He laughed a little. "I'll have to have someone fix that later then." He said and stepped aside for the captain before walking off and seeing if someone could fix the shelf later.

This is the first time in a few days that I have actually viewed this RP, so I shall post this reminder so we dont run into future problems. Make sure you read all of the rules and follow by them. But since DreamLight is new and there are some things that are still changing, I will be lenient.
@KyokoYei, you need to go back and read the RP rules, please. You must have two paragrapghs with 3-5 sentences in each one. If you're wanting the more fast-pace RP then you might want to start one up in the Out of Character roleplay, which is located above Forum Chat in the General Chat section.
I apologize if I seem rude or harsh, but the rules must be followed in order for everyone to have fun RPing.

Over the past seven hours of sailing, Seamus has spent most of his time swabbing the desk, and taking stock of the ships invetory. He watched the crew during his time working from a distance, still not too confident on approaching any of them directly, particulary after his failed attempt with the Captain earlier; but the bottol of Portelo had filled him with enough confidence to ponder climbing the mast and perhcing himself within the crow's nest.

From there he imagined the great expanse of ocean before him, a cold salty breeze in his face, and a sky rich and blue. But alas, when he signed on, he hadn't put forth his notion for being a navaigator, and resigned himself from scalling it for now.
Perhaps later at night, he wondered, as he continued to tend to the ship. His thoughts were broken as the Captain gave the command to drop anchor.
The sun was starting to cast a orange sheem along the ocean's surface. It must've been nearing meal time.

The past few hours Lilly had spent mulling about the deck, trying to be useful in some way. She helped everyone out here and there, but still she felt as though her presence on the ship was unneeded. Suddenly, she heard the Captain's order to drop anchor, and rushed to secure the ropes.

"Uhhmmm... Excuse me?" Lilly said, tapping a rather intimidating man in a navy uniform on the shoulder. "You're standing on my line... Err, that is, I really need you to move... Not to sound rude or anything!"

Seamus felt a tap on his shoulder and turned to see a young woman with bright red hair addressing him.
He looked at his feet as she highlighted where he was standing, and quickly stepped off.

"Ah, sorry. Here, lemme help" He said as he began to hastily help the woman afix the anchor for being dropped. His face a little flushed both from drinking, and embaressment, he akwardly tried to start conversation. "I'm Seamus, by the way. Err, nice to meet you miss."

Gale cooked in almost complete silence as the captain watched. Was she testing him? If not, then what? Nothing a late-night investigation won't solve. All this cooking is starting to light an adventurous fire.

Time went by, and the captain left for her duties. She never even said what to do when he had finished. With a sigh, Gale made his way to the deck where the crew was dropping anchor. After a moment, he found the captain and climbed the stairs to her. "Capt'n, the food is ready. Not much to choose from, but I'm sure I made enough for even a starving crew."

Ivelia thought for a moment. "There are bowls, plates, etcetera in a closet down there. Bring them up along with the food and have the crew form a line to get their food. Simple." She gave him a small smile, which was an obvious rarity for her.

"Mister Reed!" The Captain yelled across the deck to get his attention. "In my office! We need to chat. Mister Blackwater? Bring our food to my quarters." She slipped into her cabin and sat at her desk, looking over maps as she waited for her first mate.

((Kay guys! Just hang in there! The crew's gonna have a nasty run in with mermaids soon ))

"I'm Lilly" She replied awkwardly as the man helped her throw the anchor over. She was glad for the help, she wasn't sure she would have been able to do it herself. He seemed like a nice man, though perhaps on the tipsy side. She thought it best to try and take this opportunity to make a new friend.

"H-how are you?" She realized the stupidity of the question after she had said it, but there was no turning back now. All she could do is wait and see how he reacted.

Amari probably jumped five feet out of his skin. He hadn't expected someone to call him. He as a bit jumpy for a little while. The waters they where sailing on where starting to give him the creeps. "Yes captian." He managed to get out and made his way to her office.

He knocked on the door politely before entering. "You called me captian." He said in a monotone voice to keep from the fact that she startled him. And stood in front of her desk.
((Mermaids. Yay))

Seamus's slight doscomfort lifted a little as the woman, Lily, began to make conversation. Or perhaps it was just the after effects of drinking that put him at ease? he stretched his arms from throwing the anchor over the side.

"I'm feeling great!" He exclaimed with an almost too cheerful demanour. "It's so great to be back out on the open ocean sea and sailing once more into the grewat open unknown of the world once more!"
He stopped talking having realised he'd just blurted out a bunch of wrods really fast.

He quickly tried to ease the situation, lest he fail to make another good impression.
"How about yourself...?"

"Y-yes, captain." It wasn't like she made him a blundering fool, but he had never seen any captain smile before. "Weird." Recovering from his latest blunder, he thought he felt something different about the atmosphere, but decided not to question it. Instead, he began calling the crew to begin a line as he made his way for the food and bowls.

Once he returned, he saw that the crew was in a line. "Good." He motioned to one of the crew members. "Could you take care of things here?" When they agreed, he took two bowls of the food with him down to the captain's cabin. Unsure of how to enter and curious of the conversation inside, he just stood by the door, hoping he wasn't noticed yet.

Charlie merely gave a small wave of acknowledgement to the cook as he went off to deliver food to the Captain and her First Mate. Things were pretty awkward on board, seeing as much of the crew had only just recently joined, but it was somewhat amusing to watch. She was already beginning to have a good idea of each member just through observing a few minor details.

Taking it upon herself to aid in the serving of food, Charlie filled up a few bowls and started to distribute them to the crew in line. When the line died down, she glanced around the deck. "Last call, everyone have their meal?" Charlie stood for a moment before picking out the girl who helped her earlier with another crew member. Filling up three more bowls, Charlie balanced one on the crook of her arm and took the two into her hands.

She approached the two near the anchor and held the night's dinner out to them. "I hate to interrupt, but dinner is served," Charlie said. "And it's not so good when it's cold."

Lilly paused for a moment, thinking it over. "I'm good, I'm glad I get to sail on this ship." She said, running her hands on the boat's railing. "I've never really sailed on a ship like this before."

Admittedly she was starting to feel a bit sea sick, but she tried her best to hide it. This was her new home now, and if she couldn't get used to the sea she would never make it here.

Captain Hawk glanced up at him. "Oh sit down. And don't be so stiff." She looked back at the maps. "The Treader was in the port we just came from. We were two days behind them." She sounded angrier with every word. Ivelia finally picked up an old vase and threw it at the wall, shattering it. "we were so close! I could have-"

The young pirate captain was cut off. The crew was silent outside, and an eerie but mesmerizing singing filled the air. She slipped into a hypnotized state and went outside. On a rock near the ship, sat several mermaids and a few mermen. Their song promised the deepest desires of each sailors heart to them.

Gale heard something of the Treader, which he supposed was an enemy ship. When he finally felt it was good to enter, a strange singing began filling the air as he reached for the door. "What on earth is that?" Before he could continue the thought though, he was knocked down by the captain who just continued walking as if in a trance; the curry he was carrying spilling on him.

"By St. Elmo, that is hot!!" With a slew of curses, he followed the captain to see what she was up to, and what the sound was. What he found was rather odd to him, a group of mer-people were on a nearby rock. Something he thought was just a story.

His conversation seemed to be going alright so far with Lily, and Seamus was starting to feel as if he'd have a good ahcne to make a friend, when another crew memebr approached offering out bowls of food.

"O-oh. Thankyou... S-sorry we were distracted and nearly forgot it was supper."

Leaning back against the railing with the food, he began to eat when off in the distance he suddenly began to hear a song. He figured it must've been the rest of the crew getting into the heart of things through song, but something in his mind told him it wasn't so.
He felt himself slip into a strange ease, and for the first time without teh aid of liqour or his work, he felt perfectly relaxed with the two girls whom were still barely more than strangers.

Amari warily followed his captain outside. The singing, as he feared, was merpeople. He had never actually heard their singing before, though his father barely got away from them. The singing set him at ease and his eye that wasn't behind the eyepatch started glazing over as he made his way to the railing.

They where floating in the water looking up at the ship and it's crew. He'd never thought that they would actually be real, and his mind was screaming at him to snap out of it, but everything else was screaming to keep listening.

Captain Hawk's eyes watered a bit. She was hearing that her father was alive. If she jumped into the water, they'd give him to her. The song made her drunk and slowed her mind, so she saw nothing wrong with the situation.

She dropped her coat and hat on the deck, sliding off her boots. The sword belt joined the pile, leaving her in trousers and a loose white men's shirt. Ivelia climbed onto the railing and jumped off, diving into the sea.

The song of the merpeople was mesmerizing, and Lilly found herself fading in and out of lucidity. She couldn't recognize anything they were saying, like they were spouting a gibberish combination of words. They sounded like they started to sing something, but it changed to another sentence and another over and over again.

She saw the captain removing her shoes and gunbelt and preparing to hurl herself over the railing
"No!" She yelled, reaching out to her as she sank beneath the icy waves, but she was too late. Trying to fight the mermaid's song, she hurriedly grabbed a nearby rope, tying one end around her waist and the other around the railing. She kicked off her shoes and dove in after the captain.

Gale saw the captain jump into the water and soon after, a girl jumped in to save her. "So, the song can be fought?." Seeing a weakness to the song, he focused on his desire for revenge, convincing himself that he alone would carry out the act, and that he would let no one do the deed in his place, certainly not these foul beasts.

"If that girl is helping below, I must help here." Gale hurriedly picked up a stray wooden board and began knocking any who got close to the railings to their knees. "No one will die here, you got that? No one!"
